Muriatic acid burns and discoloration on surfacing.
This is not an uncommon occurrance when muriatic acid is used to remove grout residue from light colored brick, block, grout, etc. It would not have happened if they had used Aldon "Grout Residue Remover".
This is a strong discoloration of the materials, not just a stain. The only way to improve the appearance is with some degree of surface removal to reveal unburned material below.
With very light colored cream and white materials
- For CLAY materials: The only initial answer might be sanding, sand blasting, etc.
- For CONCRETE materials: You can do a light surface etch removal with Aldon "Grout Residue Remover".

For surfaces that can be darkened a little bit, somewhat like when they are wet - test sealing the surfacing with one of our color enhancing sealers from Surface Types
This will provide:
- Some disguising of any remaining stains or discolorations
- Strengthening of the grout/mortar.
- Strengthening of the grout/mortar bond to the brick/block/tile.
It this is flooring, you can also finish with Aldon "Lifeguard" for additional gloss and wear protection.
